The day of the show, a good friend called and said that he has an extra ticket for the show. As he was coming down to pick me up, Neil's office called and said that I had a pass for the show. I got my gear ready and my friend came by and we headed out. When I got to the show I found out that I had only one battery for my cameras. Kindred Spirits
This was a true double exposure on film. Back in the early days of shooting Rock and Roll if I still had less than 10 photos taken on a roll of film, I would take it out of my camera, and on the leader of the film I'd write how many exposures I took. So the next time I'd advance the film one frame past that number. Well, I forgot to advance the film after either shooting Frank Zappa or Jerry Garcia. Of all of the double exposures this one fit. No, they never played together. Maybe up in Heaven...
Grateful Dead UCSB Santa Barbara, CA 6-4-78
I got my photo pass from Jerilyn Brandelius, Mickey Hart's girlfriend at the time. She got me on stage for a couple songs. I guess I strayed a little too far from the spot where I was supposed to stay. Right after I got this shot of Jerry smiling at me, Steve Parish kicked me off the stage and ripped my pass in half and said get....I got.. Maybe Jerry was smiling at Parish. Anyway, I got the shot.

I was very lucky to score a pass for Nirvana's MTV New Years Eve Show. It was being taped 2 weeks before NYE. A good friend that worked for a wire service called me and said I have a photo pass, do you want it? Of course I wanted it. Pearl Jam was supposed to play also.
