I was honored to accomplish the design and production of Steve Schneider’s new book, “The First Three Songs”. I was of course already familiar with a number of Steve's classic images such as Jerry looking straight at you from Santa Barbara ’78 and New Years at Winterland, and many others. But I was amazed at the breadth of his work, from early ‘70s Neil Young to grunge heros, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam to David Bowie and the Rolling Stones. His images of Kurt Cobain and Chris Cornell are especially compelling. We have five decades of concert photography for you to enjoy. Thank you Steve!

oops, I totally forgot to send you my critique of the book.
I love it, thanks for publishing it. One of the best things about it was the consistent high-quality photography. I like the number and variety of the artists, from Nirvana to Hot Tuna.
A problem your book has caused: I'm spending more time leafing through the it, that I'm not getting anything done. Well done Steve

Hi Steve,
Just got my copy of your new book. I just have to comment that it's easily one of the best photo books I've ever seen. Page after page of images I've never seen before, each one with a story to tell.
Thanks, brother!! :)

The day of the show, a good friend called and said that he has an extra ticket for the show. As he was coming down to pick me up, Neil's office called and said that I had a pass for the show. I got my gear ready and my friend came by and we headed out. When I got to the show I found out that I had only one battery for my cameras. Lucky, I could change battery between cameras since I can only shoot one at at a time. I also got to watch the show without taking my gear back to the car. This was the first time in a while that I got to do this. It was a great show.
